COMPLIMENTARY SAMPLE · CHAPTER I OF VII

The Relationship Within

Begin with the way you accompany yourself.

You are experiencing the first chapter. This sample does not grant member access or save progress to an account.

Your relationship with yourself travels into every connection. Notice how you speak to yourself after a mistake, how you respond to your needs, and whether your own preferences receive a place in your decisions.

Self-respect grows through ordinary acts of care and honest accountability. You can acknowledge where you need to grow while treating yourself with dignity. Let your needs be information you can consider.

Choose one act of self-respect today. This journey includes friendship, family, work, community, and romantic partnership. You may focus on whichever connection matters in this season.

Being on your own side can mean noticing a need before it becomes resentment. Ask how you treat your preferences in an ordinary exchange: do you consult them, dismiss them, or expect someone else to reveal them to you? Your relationship with yourself becomes visible through these small decisions, not only through the words you use in reflection.

Self-respect includes accountability to others. You can recognize a mistake without surrendering your right to care, and express a need without pretending it is the only need present. Begin with a practical act that includes you fairly. This inner relationship can accompany friendship, family, work, community, or partnership without requiring one connection to meet everything.

HOW THIS CAN LOOK

You agree to a social plan while exhausted and later feel unseen. You notice that you never named your capacity. A next choice might be a shorter visit or a different day. Recognizing your part does not erase your need; it gives you an action within reach.

These further questions are optional. Sit with them quietly or include what matters in your reflections below.

  • Where do I expect others to notice a need I have not allowed myself to consider?
  • What would including myself fairly look like in this ordinary exchange?

YOUR SACRED PRACTICE

Place a hand over your heart if comfortable. Complete: “Today I need…” and “One way I can honor that need is…” Let the answer be practical.

Space for your own words.
